Sorry I was gone for a few weeks. Life is pretty crazy and the weeks are just speeding by. (yeah!)
This is finals week and I just have a couple of tests to finish and then I will be DONE! I am still working part time and will have my part time internship until June. In a couple of weeks my very last class of my undergraduate career will start. The class is a 6 week online class about Milwaukee. Yeah, I was going for easy with that one.
The other exciting news is that we are moving in a couple weeks. We will hear for sure in the next couple days if we are officially approved and can go and sign the lease. So far things are looking really good and we should be totally good to go (that is what the apartment lady said today at least). I will write another post when all of that is finished and hopefully I can add pictures soon.
In other news, we have our anatomy scan on Friday. That is the long, in-depth ultrasound that looks at all the parts of baby and makes sure everything is developing well so far. This is also the ultrasound where you get to find out the sex of the baby. As long as the little one cooperates that is. I will be pretty upset if this kid doesn't show me. My husband and I are going with my best friend. We are going to try and get some of the ultrasound videotaped as well so we can show everyone. On Saturday our families are coming to Milwaukee and we are having a small graduation/baby is a _______ party. Right now the plan is to go to a park and have a picnic and eat cupcakes with pink or blue frosting in the middle. If it rains only God knows what we will do at this point. I am still working on that and for now praying really hard it doesn't. (even though there is a chance of thunderstorms)
I will most definitely be putting up a blog post sometime next week about our ultrasound so stay tuned. And now for the stats this week.
How far along? 20 weeks, 3 days
Total weight gain: according to my scale at home I am up 8lbs all together.
Showing? so much! At exactly 18 weeks I woke up and my belly had totally popped overnight. Since then it is out of control. I feel like I am a lot bigger than most 20 week first time moms. But, at least people can tell I am pregnant now.
Maternity clothes? Big time. Since the weather has been getting nicer I have been wearing a few dresses too. I got to try out my new maternity capris and shorts the other week and they are awesome! Finding a shirt to wear is getting sort of difficult sometimes and I have to get creative at moments. I just need to work on organizing what I do have and I need to do laundry more often now that I have less clothes to wear.
Baby Items bought? we haven't really got anything for awhile. I know this will definitely change after we find out the gender. I have been saving up for that. I can barely hold myself back from the baby clothes. I will most definitely be getting a few things very soon!
Stretch marks? I am waiting for them. I think they will be showing up soon.
Sleep: It is hard to tell if I am extra tired or just normal tired for all the stuff I have to do. I think I may be a little less tired than I have been for the last few months. I am still pretty tired by the end of the day though.
Best moment this week: I think just having it finally be this week. I have been waiting for months for this week. Finish school, sign a lease, see baby. So many exciting things happening. Mothers Day was nice with my family and Matt got me a cute card.
Miss Anything? I miss being able to move around more easily. I am pretty nervous for the next 4 months since it is already getting hard to stand up and bend over.
Movement: YES!!! So much movement. When I was 17 weeks and 6 days I felt the first obvious movement. I was laying in bed before I fell asleep and there were 3 very distinct little taps. Almost like he was knocking. I yelled for Matt to come in and told him. Every day since then I have felt him/her. Some days it isn't very much but now they can be pretty violent. I felt it from the outside about a week ago and just last night I actually saw a kick from the outside. Matt still hasn't felt it yet, but I hope soon.
Food cravings: Not much this week. I just want to eat ALL THE TIME. I have been downing greek yogurt and fruit this week.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope. Sometimes I still feel a little gaggy when something is in my mouth, but that isn't very common anymore.
Gender: in 4 days we will know!!!
Labor Signs: not that I am aware of
Symptoms: ITCHY SKIN! It is horrible. I told Matt last night I want to invent some sort of huge brush that is like a waffle press and then I would lay in it and you could close it on me and I would just roll and scratch and scratch. I am itchy absolutely everywhere. It isn't just on my belly. It is my back and arms and legs and neck and chest and butt and everywhere! It doesn't feel like dry skin either. I will definitely be asking my doctor about this on Friday. Also, I think I may have experienced a few braxton hick contractions as well. From what I have read it seems to describe what I have experienced. It is like a sort of cramping in my belly where parts of it getting really, really rock hard. It is a little bit alarming, but usually goes away after a few seconds.
Belly Button in or out? getting slightly shallow. This makes me think it might actually pop out by the end of this, or at least get flat. It is definitely a little weird looking.
Wedding rings on or off? on, although a small part of me hopes I have to take them off and get a fake diamond ring for a couple weeks.
Happy or Moody most of the time: this week I am very happy... I just can't wait for Friday.
Looking forward to: Matt feeling the baby kick and ultrasound on Friday, and finishing school, and moving and all sorts of stuff.
just to catch up... 18 weeks |
19 weeks |
20 weeks... guinea pig size |
what a cute little pig. |
