Week 15

Week 15 seems like a big milestone to both me and Matt. It is just such a big number. Perhaps this is because if we wanted to we could find out the gender of our baby as early as next week. Unfortunately we won't be able to find out the gender until May 17th, or week 21.

This week our baby is able to sense light through his fused eyelids, he is forming taste buds, he is practicing breathing by moving amniotic fluid through his nose, he can wiggle his fingers and toes, and the hair on his head is starting to grow. (like I said I don't know if it is a boy, I just don't like saying "it")

How far along? 15 weeks, 2 days

Total weight gain:
 still at about 2lbs

Showing?  yep, there is finally a true baby bump there. It is still small, but I can no longer suck it in at all and it is much harder than last week. Also, I am looking so much less fat and so much more pregnant. Hooray!

Maternity clothes? maternity pants every day still and now I wear tighter shirts because then I don't look fat, but pregnant instead. I can't wait for it to be a little warmer so I can start wearing dresses. I am getting slightly sick of my two pairs of maternity jeans that I have been wearing every day for a month now.

Baby Items bought? baby chucks! well, we didn't actually buy them, but someone on Craigslist, a mile from out house,  was giving them away. Matt went over there and got them and they are great. Pretty much new, except they smell like they were stored for awhile. A little airing out and some febreeze and they will be good as new.

Stretch marks? none for now, I have been putting some aveeno lotion on in the morning, all over because my skin is so dry.

Sleep: It has been fine, no complaints.

Best moment this week:
I'm not sure. I don't know if I would call it the best, but the funniest moment was when someone was checking out my belly and then after I told them I was pregnant they told me they were 99% sure I was.

Miss Anything? nope.

Movement: none, and I am so excited for it to happen. It could be any day now, or it could be weeks from now.

Food cravings: not really. However, I am not turning all this Easter candy down.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
still brushing my teeth makes me almost throw up and my semi solid coffee creamer made me throw up in my mouth a little bit today.

Gender:
like I said, we won't know until May 17th. I still have a  boy vibe.

Labor Signs: nada

Symptoms: well, here is a weird one... whenever I pee I have really sharp pain in my abdomen, like a crampy feeling. I am assuming it is round ligament pain and when my bladder empties things shift. Besides that annoying one, just feeling more tired than normal sometimes.

Belly Button in or out? in as can be

Wedding rings on or off?
 on as ever

Happy or Moody most of the time: still mostly happy

Looking forward to: feeling the baby... and knowing the gender in 5.5 weeks.

BABY CHUCKS!!!

14 weeks

How far along? 14 weeks, 3 days

Total weight gain:
 a couple of pounds

Showing?  something is definitely there that wasn't there a week ago. when I wake up in the morning my hard little bump is definitely there, by the end of the day it isn't as hard, but there is most definitely a small bump growing.

Maternity clothes? maternity pants every day and I just try to wear a shirt that doesn't make me look obese

Baby Items bought? we bought an awesome stroller, also brand new from Goodwill.

Stretch marks? nope, I should hope not

Sleep: I have been sleeping so much better. I don't wake up during the night at all, except for every once and a long while to pee.

Best moment this week:
hmmm.... Easter was nice. Seeing family and seeing some friends at church who were all excited about our baby was an exciting time.

Miss Anything? not really, I am feeling so much better and almost starting to enjoy this pregnant thing

Movement: not yet, but it could be getting pretty close now

Food cravings: not much of anything lately, that is pretty nice actually

Anything making you queasy or sick:
brushing my teeth actually made me throw up a little the other day, that was not so fun. now I have to brush really fast so I can finish before I start gagging, also putting anything in my mouth like a pen or even a fork sometimes makes me gag

Gender:
don't know yet, but for the last week I have been having some strong boy vibes.

Labor Signs: none to speak of

Symptoms: not to many to be honest. I am having ligament pain, which is basically a sharp pain towards the bottom of my abdomen whenever I cough or sneeze or get up too quick or things like that. sometimes it isn't too bad at all and every once and awhile it is a pretty sharp pain that makes me have to stop and wince until it goes away. Other than that a little bit of dizziness and lightheadedness.

Belly Button in or out?
super in

Wedding rings on or off?
 so on

Happy or Moody most of the time: mostly happy

Looking forward to: having a legitimate bump that I can be proud of

Week 13

2nd semester everyone! (I am just going to leave that typo, because it really explains a lot)

We made it through 1/3 of this pregnancy. I can't believe it is going so fast and at the same time I can't believe that anything could possibly go this slow. So, I went to the doctor for my 12 week appointment on Friday and guess what!!! I wasn't even in my 12th week. My doctor officially changed my due date from October 1st to September 27th. That means I got to skip most of week 12 and get right to week 13.

Today I am 13 weeks and 3 days. That marks the official start of the 2nd trimester. I have heard magical things about the 2nd trimester. Apparently you get all your energy back, you stop being sick, you have a perfectly rounded belly and your days are filled with onsie shopping and magical baby kicks. It would be a marked improvement from the 1st 1/3 of this pregnancy that was filled with nausea and being painfully tired and secrets and worry. I am very ready to move forward.

At my appointment on Friday I got another little peek at Baby Stuessy.  My OB is awesome and let me have a little look for no reason, just because. He was waving and even did a little summersault. The heartbeat was 158. And yet again one of my first thoughts is that I just really want to dress that tiny little human in tiny little clothes.

This week was a big week baby wise. My parents came over the weekend and we went baby shopping. It was my first shopping trip for the baby. Slightly overwhelming at times, but it just made everything so real. Tonight I came home to the cutest thing I have ever owned. Matt made a stop at Goodwill this evening, where it appears Target decided to donate some brand new items. One of which was a Fisher-price playtime bouncer. I immediately needed to assemble the entire thing, which included putting batteries in to feel it vibrate and to listen to the noises it makes. Now I just look over at it every couple minutes and try to imagine a real life baby laying in there. The best part: it has a koala on it.

How far along? 13 weeks, 3 days

Total weight gain:
as of my appointment on Friday it was 1 pound, as of the scale this evening it was closer to 5 pounds. Today I am going to go with the doctor appointment, because then I don't feel fat.

Showing?  definitely more this week. In the morning there is a nice little bump. By the end of the day I just look fat and feel fat.

Maternity clothes?  My mom bought me a couple of shirts for super cheap at Babies-R-Us. I am pretty much wearing maternity pants every day now and usually shirts that are also maternity-ish.

Baby Items bought? well,  as I mentioned above we got the new baby bouncer for $15. My mom also brought us a bag of baby clothes she got awhile ago from Goodwill. There is some pretty adorable stuff in there.

Stretch marks? none in sight

Sleep: getting a little better. I am uncomfortable sometimes, but I don't wake up 20 million times a night anymore. Still have crazy dreams, but I think those may have tones down a bit as well.

Best moment this week:
that is a hard one. There were so many good moments. Jumping ahead a few days to 13 weeks,  seeing baby jumping around, looking at cribs with my family, setting up the baby bouncer, making a list of all the things we need for baby. I can't really pick one, but there were many

Miss Anything? to be honest, not really

Movement: still waiting for that

Food cravings: a lot of stuff... still hotdogs. cheese. apples. sweet things. coffee. sub sandwiches.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
not too badly. Sometimes a strong smell will be too much and I will have to get out of there ASAP.

Gender:
I would absolutely love to know... ultrasound appointment set for May 17th folks!

Labor Signs:  still a long way off

Symptoms: definitely going away. heartburn and I am hungry a lot and if I don't yet often I get super lightheaded and dizzy

Belly Button in or out?
in

Wedding rings on or off?
 on

Happy or Moody most of the time:   a lot of both. This weekend I was very happy, now it's back to school and therefore I am much more moody

Looking forward to: ultrasound on May 17th and finishing school (at the same time by the way)
